Quach Thi Lan was registered by the coaching staff of the Vietnamese athletics team to compete in the women's 4x400m relay event at this year's tournament.
The competition program of the 2026 Asian Relay Championship takes place in China from June 20 to June 21. This is the 2nd time the Asian Athletics Federation has organized a continental championship for relay events.
The first tournament took place in 2024 in Thailand and the Vietnamese athletics team participated.
The women's 4x400m relay team of Vietnamese athletics has not competed since SEA Games 33 until now. At SEA Games 33 in December last year in Thailand, the women's 4x400m relay team won a gold medal with a time of 3 minutes 35 seconds 59.
The relay team at that time included athletes Nguyen Thi Hang, Le Thi Tuyet Mai, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh, Nguyen Thi Ngoc.
Quach Thi Lan did not compete in the women's 4x400m relay at SEA Games 33 but she won a gold medal in the women's 400m hurdles event.
At the 2023 Asian Relay Championships, Quach Thi Lan competed in the 4x400m relay team with teammates Nguyen Thi Hang, Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh to win a gold medal.
At that time, the women's 4x400m relay team of Vietnamese athletics achieved a result of 3 minutes 30 seconds 81. The achievement has been recognized as a new national record for the event.
At the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships held in Korea, the Vietnamese athletics team won a silver medal in the women's 4x400m relay (Quach Thi Lan, Nguyen Thi Hang, Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh) with a result of 3 minutes 34 seconds 77.
Coming to the 2026 Asian Relay Championship, the coaching staff of the Vietnamese Athletics Team is expected to register 16 athletes to participate in the competition.
