According to Lao Dong, on the afternoon of January 15, during the working session between Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Quang and Chairman of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan, the two sides evaluated the results of organizing the ASEAN Cup 2024 football tournament, and planned the coordination program for 2025.
At the ASEAN Cup 2024, Viet Tri Stadium (Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province) was chosen as the home stadium of the Vietnam team. Throughout the tournament, Phu Tho has met the requirements for facilities; ensured security and medical work. Accommodation, restaurant and tourism service establishments strictly complied with regulations in their operations.
Beautiful images of the land and people of Phu Tho in general and Phu Tho tourism in particular during the tournament were also widely promoted, creating an impression on domestic and foreign tourists.
According to statistics, during the tournament, Phu Tho welcomed over 70 thousand fans and tourists, about 12,600 guests stayed, tourism revenue was estimated at 50 billion VND.
By 2025, Phu Tho province aims to renovate and upgrade the facilities of the Viet Tri Sports Complex and Stadium with a capacity of 30,000 to 35,000 seats (current capacity is about 20,000 seats).
At the same time, upgrade facilities to international standards and strongly develop the youth football training system to continue serving tournaments associated with tourism activities, spreading the image of Phu Tho - Hung King's Ancestral Land to international friends.
At the meeting, Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Quang expressed his hope that the Vietnam Football Federation will consider Viet Tri Stadium as a satellite stadium, organizing training sessions and friendly matches for national teams at Viet Tri Stadium.
VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan highly appreciated the close and effective coordination of Phu Tho, and said that the policy of renovating and upgrading the scale of the Sports Complex and Viet Tri Stadium to ensure international standards will be a favorable premise for organizing major tournaments here.
