Vietnam Football Federation has new General Secretary

Mr. Nguyen Van Phu will replace Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi as General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

Today (November 22), at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the 2024 VFF Annual Congress took place. Accordingly, the Congress will focus on discussing important plans for Vietnamese football in the coming time.

The issue of personnel at the executive level is also being paid attention to. Accordingly, VFF General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi's contract will expire on December 31, 2024. Therefore, the Vietnam Football Federation must choose new personnel for this position. The person chosen is Dr. Nguyen Van Phu.

Before taking on the new role, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu was the Head of the Sports Medicine Department of VFF (established in January 2024). The establishment of the Sports Medicine Department laid the first brick in building a systematic and professional medical system of VFF.

Although newly established, in 2024, VFF sports medicine has been operating effectively. The Orthopedic Trauma & Sports Medicine Center was recognized as a Sports Medicine Center of Excellence - according to the standards of the Asian Football Confederation.

In addition, Mr. Phu is currently a member of the Medical Committee of the Asian Football Confederation and Deputy Head of the Medical Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation.

Previously, Dr. Nguyen Van Phu was Deputy Director and Head of Department at Vietnam Sports Hospital, former Head of the Medical Subcommittee of National Sports Teams of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training; member of scientific associations, professional organizations, member of the Vietnam Olympic Committee...
