Trinh Gia Nghi and Nguyen Hoang Minh Tan share their feelings after winning a bronze medal in teqball at ASIAD 20.

Trinh Gia Nghi and Nguyen Hoang Minh Tan defeated the pair of athletes Dsouza Quimcy Joaquim - Beg Mohamed Anas Imran of India with a score of 2-0 in the teqball ASIAD 20 bronze medal match held on the morning of September 20.

Sharing after the match, Trinh Gia Nghi said: "Compared to previous matches, today, we have coordinated much better. Both teams have had many effective attacking situations, solid defenses.

The 23-year-old female athlete revealed that she has only been practicing teqball for about a year. Therefore, winning a medal at ASIAD 20 brings special emotions.

“I have only been practicing teqball for more than a year. At this time, I feel very happy to be the one to bring home the first medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation,” Gia Nghi shared.

According to Gia Nghi, this achievement is also meaningful in bringing teqball closer to Vietnamese fans.

We are trying to make teqball more developed in Vietnam. Hopefully after this medal, more people will know about it," she said.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Hoang Minh Tan said that he has only been familiar with teqball for about a year, after 5 years of practicing sepak takraw. This athlete admitted that this is a sport that is not easy to get used to.

This sport is not simple at all, even very difficult to get used to. Here there are many new movements, requiring a combination of using legs, chest, thighs and many parts," Minh Tan said.

According to Minh Tan, the specific technical requirements of teqball require athletes to continuously improve, but at the same time help the body become more flexible and agile.

I am very honored and proud to be the one to bring home this first medal," Minh Tan shared.

Minh Tan and Gia Nghi's bronze medal is the first medal of Vietnamese teqball at ASIAD 20, and also marks the opening of the medal achievement of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the Games.
