On March 18, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism - Hoang Dao Cuong chaired a report on preparations for the 33rd SEA Games in shooting, karate and jujitsu.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong affirmed that the 33rd SEA Games is an important test towards the ASIAD and the Olympics.Therefore, the training, coaching, and facilities of the subjects need to be guaranteed to the maximum.National Sports Training Centers must fully prepare equipment and logistics, food and accommodation.
"We request the Department of Physical Education and Sports to continue reviewing and implementing it according to plan.The departments need to continue to perfect specific, detailed and more extensive plans, how to have the best human resources, mobilization, effective programs and equipment," Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong requested.
Reporting on the shooting sport, head coach Nghiem Viet Hung said that the Vietnam national team's coaching staff has made a detailed plan for each stage and cycle with specific goals.
In 2025, the shooting team has summoned a total of 45 athletes, 6 coaches and 1 expert for the immediate goal of the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
Through internal inspections, training sessions and competitions, the coaching staff will continue to evaluate and select the best faces for the ASIAD and Olympics.
Mr. Nghiem Viet Hung added: The coaching staff also invited some quality foreign teams to compete to help Vietnamese athletes compete and gain experience.The goal is to find ways to increase coordination and competition for athletes right in the country.
During this period, in addition to the skill factor, the coaching staff mainly focuses on improving the psychology of athletes.For each cycle, each coach will come up with a specific plan, guiding athletes to the final destination of the year, the SEA Games".
Karate and jujitsu have also entered the training phase.The coaching staff of each team has made a detailed plan for the athletes, through training and competition to accumulate experience and prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Hoang Quoc Vinh - Head of High Performance Sports Department I said that everything must be put into practice, not just on paperwork.
Mr. Vinh suggested that each sport should strive to practice, continue to improve the long-term plan to prepare for the ASIAD and the Olympics and especially focus on youth training.
