On the evening of September 14th, at Lanh Binh Thang Gymnasium (HCMC), Thai Son Bac and Sahako entered the final match of the 2026 HDBank National Futsal Cup. With the bravery of the defending champion, Thai Son Bac won 4-2 to win the championship for the 3rd consecutive time.
Sahako entered the game excitedly after overcoming Thai Son Nam TPHCM in the semi-finals. In the 3rd minute, Huynh Mi Woen stole the ball and launched a dangerous long-range shot, forcing goalkeeper Pham Van Tu to show his talent to save.
However, Thai Son Bac was the team to open the score. In the 5th minute, from Nguyen Thac Hieu's free kick on the right wing, the ball touched Y-zen Nie Kdam and changed direction, causing goalkeeper Doan Minh Quang to not have time to react.
Sahako encountered more difficulties when he soon committed all 5 combined fouls. However, coach Nguyen Anh Khoa's team still tried to maintain the game and found an equalizer in the 11th minute. Huynh Mi Woen continued to leave his mark with a ball snatch, before creating conditions for Tran Thanh Phong to escape and finish diagonally, bringing the match back to the starting line.
The stalemate was maintained before Thai Son Bac once again took the lead in the 16th minute. Vu Ngoc Anh skillfully handled it, eliminated player Sahako and then launched a powerful shot into the top corner, increasing the score to 2-1.
Two minutes before the end of the first half, Sahako committed the 6th total foul and Thai Son Bac was awarded a 10m penalty. Nguyen Da Hai successfully converted it, helping his team lead 3-1 after 20 minutes of play.
In the second half, Sahako continued to face pressure from combined errors. In the 27th minute, this team made a 5th error. One minute later, Dinh Bo Thanh handled the ball in the penalty area, helping Thai Son Bac get a 10m penalty. However, Da Hai could not take advantage of the opportunity to increase the gap.
Sahako quickly regained hope. In the 30th minute, Dinh Bo Thanh himself made amends with a free kick that sent the ball straight into Thai Son Bac's net, narrowing the score to 2-3.
The final minutes were tense when Sahako tried to find an equalizer. However, Thai Son Bac showed the bravery of the team holding the championship. In the 34th minute, in a quick counter-attack, Mota skillfully handled past Sahako's defense and then passed the ball for Nguyen Da Hai to finish into the empty goal, sealing a 4-2-win.
This result helps Thai Son Bac win the HDBank National Futsal Championship for the 3rd consecutive time. Coach Costa Garcia's team also completed a double national title in 2026, after winning the HDBank National Futsal Championship at the end of July.
Thai Son Bac also dominates in individual awards. Nguyen Da Hai was awarded the title of Best Player, Pham Van Tu received the title of Best Goalkeeper. Da Hai also shared the top scorer title with Moreira Marco of Sahako.
In the third-place match, Thai Son Nam TPHCM won a resounding 6-1 victory over Tan Hiep Hung. Tan Hiep Hung was awarded the Style award.
