Members of the Vietnam Gymnastics Team have finished the women's events of the 2026 Asian Championship held on June 28 in China. Today, June 29, the women's athletes returned home.
Closing the men's and women's events of the 2026 Asian Championships, we did not win any medals.
However, the Vietnamese Men's Gymnastics Team is in the top 10 teams with the best team results, so they will receive 5 slots to participate in ASIAD 20.
The Vietnamese women's gymnastics team has athlete Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu in the final of the individual diving event at the 2026 Asian Championships, so they will have the opportunity to be awarded a ticket to ASIAD 20.
To prepare for ASIAD 20, the Vietnam Sports Administration plans to send the main force of the Vietnam Gymnastics Team to China for 2 months of training (the program is expected from July 12 to September 9).
At the end of this training session, the whole team will compete in ASIAD 20 in Japan in September.
According to the regulations of the ASIAD 20 Organizing Committee, gymnastics will allow each country to register a maximum of 5 male athletes and 5 female athletes to compete.
Participation slots are specified from the results of the ASIAD 20 qualifiers and the 2026 Asian Championships.
Gymnastics at ASIAD 20 will compete in 8 men's events (teams, individual all-around men's, individual freestyle gymnastics, individual wrestling, individual chess, individual ring horse, individual crossbar, individual parallel bar) and 6 women's events (teams, individual all-around women's, individual chess, individual crossbar, individual balance bridge, individual freestyle gymnastics).
