Ho Van Y is one of the experienced goalkeepers of Vietnamese futsal and has played prominently in international tournaments many times. This goalkeeper has not participated in the national team in the past time because he has not fully recovered from his injury.
The fact that he was recalled by coach Diego Giustozzi shows the coaching staff's high expectations for the experience, competitive bravery as well as the role of Ho Van Y in the national team's goal.
If he ensures fitness and meets professional requirements well, the goalkeeper born in 1997 is considered an important addition to the defense of the Vietnamese futsal team in the upcoming regional arena.
In the goalkeeper position, the national team also has the presence of Nguyen Quoc Giau (born in 2009). The young goalkeeper was given the opportunity to gather with the national team to accumulate experience and improve professional skills, aiming to become a successor resource in the future.

Besides the highlight in the goalkeeper position, the force that participated in the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship finals continues to be trusted by the coaching staff to be used as the core. Players such as Gia Hung, Cong Vien, Manh Dung, Da Hai or Ngoc Anh are all familiar faces with international competition experience.
In addition, the coaching staff also gave opportunities to some new players such as Nguyen Thac Hieu or An Lam Toi to increase competitiveness in the squad and test more personnel options.
According to the plan, the Vietnamese futsal team will gather from March 16 in Ho Chi Minh City. In the domestic preparation phase, the coaching staff will focus on improving fitness, completing tactical aspects as well as improving the ability to organize attacks and defensive certainty.
After a period of training domestically, the Vietnamese futsal team will go to Thailand for training before entering the official tournament. Here, coach Diego Giustozzi and his team are expected to have two friendly matches with top Thai futsal clubs Hong Yen Takam and Blackpearl to review the force and test the playing style.
The 2026 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship will take place in Thailand from April 6 to April 12, 2026 with the participation of 8 teams. The Vietnamese futsal team is in Group A with Myanmar, Timor-Leste and host Thailand.
According to professional assessments, the confrontation between Vietnam and Thailand in the last match of the group stage is predicted to be decisive for the top spot in the group. With the current force and a thorough preparation process, the Vietnamese futsal team aims to advance to the final of this year's tournament.
