According to the plan, the match will take place at 6:00 p.m. on June 17 local time (ie 5:00 a.m. on June 18, Vietnam time) at Inter & Co Stadium in Orlando (Florida, USA).
As soon as the two teams entered the field to prepare for the match, referee Clement Turpin asked for a temporary stop due to detection of dangerous weather signs, including black clouds and strong winds. Although there was no rain, the organizing committee immediately activated the safety process according to international standards.
Players of both teams were asked to leave the stadium, while spectators were guided down to a closed corridor to ensure safety. According to information from the organizing committee, the weather conditions have changed from "may there be showers" to lightning warnings near the stadium area.
According to safety regulations at the tournament, if lightning is detected within a radius of 13km, the match will be postponed and each additional detection will prolong the waiting time by 30 minutes.
After about an hour of interruption, the match officially resumed at 19:05 local time (ie 6:05 am Vietnam time).
Although the weather at the time of the match was still hot and there was no rain, postponing the match was considered necessary to ensure the safety of the players, referees and the audience.
In addition to the weather-related incident, the match also recorded a deserted audience. Some sources on social media said that there were only about 100 spectators present to watch the match live at the stadium.
