The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City World Cup 3-cushion Billiards Carom Tournament (Ho Chi Minh City World Cup) held at Nguyen Du Stadium (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF), in coordination with the main sponsor of Hollywood, has ended. The tournament has the participation of 149 players, including the world's top superstars.
The champion of the tournament received 16,000 Euros (nearly 470 million VND) and 80 reward points. Runner-up 10,000 Euros and 54 reward points. The two third-place players will receive a prize money of 6,000 Euros and 36 points/person. The remaining positions will receive bonuses and bonus points according to the allocation.
In the final, world No. 1 superstar Dick Jaspers (Netherlands) defeated Heo Jung Han (Korea) with a score of 50-33, after 20 turns to win the championship. Players Tran Quyet Chien and Hwang Bong Joo (Korea) are tied for third place.
Previously in the semi-final, Dick Jaspers defeated Tran Quyet Chien with a score of 50-48 after 30 turns. This is the 32nd World Cup championship in Dick Jaspers' career, but it is the first time he has been crowned at the Ho Chi Minh City World Cup after 9 times participating in the tournament in Vietnam.
Immediately after this tournament ended, the World Carom Federation (UMB) updated the rankings of players based on the achievements in the tournament in Vietnam. Notably, Tran Quyet Chien rose to world No. 2 with a total of 346 points, only behind Dick Jaspers (498 points). Tran Thanh Luc increased 1 place from 5th to 4th in the world. The next World Cup will take place from June 9 to 15 in Turkey.
