On the morning of December 11, Head of the Vietnamese sports delegation, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, met to encourage Vietnamese MMA fighters to prepare for the finals at the 33rd SEA Games.
This time, we have 3 players in the final and have the opportunity to win a gold medal. The finals began in the afternoon of the day.
According to the competition program, boxer Duong Thi Thanh Binh will meet Wulan Dwi Ani Retino (Indonesia) in the women's classic weight category 54kg; boxer Quang Van Minh will meet Tan Yee Siang (Malaysia) in the modern men's 65kg weight category and boxer Tran Ngoc Luong will meet Alfiandi (Indonesia) in the modern men's 60kg weight category.
During the meeting, Head of the delegation Nguyen Hong Minh encouraged the spirit of the whole team. In particular, he emphasized that the players maintain their spirit to compete for the highest achievements, which also demonstrates the martial arts spirit of the Vietnamese people.
For the first time, the 33rd SEA Games will organize mixed martial arts (MMA). Therefore, this is also the first time we have the Vietnam MMA Team participating in the Congress. The whole team has registered 6 players to compete in 6 events but only 3 people have reached the finals.
MMA will be the earliest competition at the 33rd SEA Games after the 6 finals held today, December 11.
Before the fighters set off, the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF) announced the awards for medal achievements. In which, each gold medal achievement will be rewarded with 200 million VND.
