Vietinbank volleyball team beat Hung Yen 3-0 in the first match of the second phase of the 2025 National Championship. The results are enough to help coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team enter the final round this year. After 6 group stage matches, the Vietinbank team has 4 wins and 2 losses.
The last time before this year's tournament, Vietinbank entered the final round of the tournament, becoming the 4 strongest women's teams in Vietnam's volleyball, was in 2020. At that time, the team ranked 3rd in the 2020 National Championship.
After that time, the Vietinbank team changed personnel in the coaching staff, so they did not achieve the highest results. In the 2021 and 2022 seasons, the team had to participate in the relegation round. In 2023, the team unexpectedly returned to 5th place.
Vietinbank team officially invited coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet to return as head coach from January 2024. Mr. Kiet and the Vietinbank team finished the 2024 National Championship with 6th place. In this tournament, the Vietinbank team had to participate in the relegation ticket battle but won a successful result.
This year, the Vietinbank team significantly increased its force. In particular, they hired 2 main attackers Dang Thi Hong (from Thai Nguyen) and Vi Thi Nhu Quynh (from Quang Ninh) to participate in the first stage. In phase 2, Dang Thi Hong no longer plays, however, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh is still in the Vietinbank squad.
After 6 matches competing in the group stage of the 2025 National Championship (5 first stage matches, 1 match in the second stage), the Vietinbank team won against the Information Corps, Ho Chi Minh City, Duc Giang Chemicals and Hung Yen teams. This team also has the final match of the group stage against Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement (October 9). In phase 2, the Vietinbank team only hired 1 foreign player, the main striker Anna Belyanskaya (Russia).
