The VTV Cup 2025 International Volleyball Tournament will take place from June 28 to July 5 at Vinh Phuc Stadium. This year, for the first time, Vietnam has two participating national teams: the Vietnam women's volleyball team and the Vietnam U21 team.
For the national team, the tournament is an opportunity for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet to continue reviewing personnel, tactical pieces and preparations for the goals in 2025. In particular, after the AVC Nations Cup 2025, the team's weaknesses such as defense in the back line or taking the first step are things that Mr. Kiet is very concerned about.
Against opponents with strong playing style and powerful serves, the team's rear often fell into a passive position, leading to inconsistent first passes and reduced attack efficiency.
"The Vietnamese women's volleyball team has not had many changes in strength and playing style compared to the AVC Nations Cup 2025. However, at VTV Cup 2025, we have higher professional requirements for athletes, especially in step 1," said head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet.
At VTV Cup 2025, in addition to the core force that participated in the recent AVC Nations Cup 2025, the coaching staff had a notable change in libero position when Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh was called up to replace Luu Thi Ly Ly Ly. This is the first time the female libero born in 2000 who is playing for Vietinbank club has been called up to the national team.
Most likely, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet wants to continue experimenting in this position. When the Vietnamese women's volleyball team owns a libero Nguyen Khanh Dang with high performance and very stable performance, Ninh Anh will be an option that can be used in matches that are not too stressful for the team.
As coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet once shared, the women's volleyball team is training 20 players. The highest goal of the team is to compete in the 33rd SEA Games. However, no player has been guaranteed a place in this tournament, so they must demonstrate their full professional ability through each tournament.
Therefore, the players all have the opportunity to play for the coaching staff to experiment with each position while creating fairness in professional competition.

VTV Cup 2025 has 8 teams competing. Playing in a friendly match and facing many teams, especially quality teams like Korabelka (Russia), Vietnamese players are forced to upgrade their ability to read situations, handle the ball faster and more accurately.
In addition, the pressure from strong attacks and diverse tactics will help the team practice their defense, especially in the first step and covering the back.
The enthusiasm of fans at Vinh Phuc Stadium will certainly be a spiritual support for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in the journey to improve weaknesses, perfect the squad and especially conquer the VTV Cup 2025 championship.
