The Vietnamese youth chess team won a silver medal at the 2025 World Youth Championship which just concluded in Kazakhstan.

On the evening of September 30, the 2025 World Youth Chess Championship for the U8, U10, and U12 age groups ended in Kazakhstan.

Snooker Le Phan Hoang Quan won the silver medal in the U10 men's team. After 11 matches, Le Phan Hoang Quan has a total of 9 points, with the runner-up position.

As a result, Hoang Quan has 8 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. In the final game, the Black Army played effectively against Ivanovic Leonid (serbia). The victory decided the final runner-up position for the young player of Vietnam.

Hoang Quan has participated in many youth tournaments in Southeast Asia and Asia according to his age group before. The player was professionally developed in the Ho Chi Minh City chess movement.

Hoang Quan's silver medal is the only medal won by the Vietnam Youth Chess Team in this year's tournament. Some remaining results include 35th place in the U8 men's group (player Vu Thanh An), 27th place in the U10 men's group (Vu Nhat Khuong), 28th place in the U12 men's group (Nguyen Quang Anh), 105th place in the U12 men's group (Trinh Nguyen Lam), 60th place in the U12 women's group (Tran Duong Hoang Ngan).

This year's tournament attracted 842 players from 88 countries and territories around the world to participate. The players competed in men's and women's standard chess in groups of 3 age groups.
