VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan said that the national women's team's victory in the 2026 Asian Cup finals after excellently qualifying is an important milestone, contributing to affirming the position of Vietnamese football in the continental arena.
According to the VFF President, up to now, there have been 5 national teams that have qualified for the 2026 Asian finals, including: women's team, men's futsal team, U23, U17 women's and U20 women's.
This is the result of in-depth investment and shows a solid inheritance among generations of Vietnamese female players, affirmed Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan.

Looking forward to the 33rd SEA Games, the VFF President noted that the national team needs to focus on the goal of defending the regional championship, with careful preparation both professionally and mentally.
The Federation has developed a specific plan, in which the training trip in Nagoya (Japan) in November is considered an important stepping stone. Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized: "VFF will ensure the best logistics work so that the team can focus completely on their expertise".
At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam women's team is in the same group as the Philippines, Myanmar and Malaysia. This is considered a difficult group as the opponents have all improved strongly, especially the Philippines has many naturalized players.

The VFF President requested the coaching staff and players to carefully study the opponents, while maximizing the team's strengths. He expressed his hope that the young players called up this time will bring a new breeze, contributing to helping the team maintain competitiveness.
According to the plan, the Vietnam women's team will leave for Japan to train from November 20, after a training period at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center and three domestic friendly matches.
Sharing about the preparation work, coach Mai Duc Chung said that the whole team has completed the first phase towards the 33rd SEA Games. They have made a great effort.
The training spirit of the players is very appreciated, and this will be an important factor to help the team aim for the best results at the upcoming SEA Games," he said.

He said that the team has significantly improved their physical strength and coordination ability, through the practice match against Ho Chi Minh City I club with a score of 3-2. "We still have to make many tactical adjustments. The upcoming SEA Games will be very fierce, so the whole team must improve more in each training session, coach Mai Duc Chung emphasized.
