After gathering, U16 Vietnam quickly entered training under the guidance of coach Hoang Anh Tuan. The current number includes 36 players, including two new faces added: midfielder Nguyen Duc Phong (The Cong Viettel) and striker Nguyen Viet Bao Quan (Hanoi Police).
The convocation of a large force helps the coaching staff have more conditions to monitor and evaluate the expertise of each player. This is also an opportunity for young players to compete for positions, show their abilities and get acquainted with the training environment at the national team level.
Supporting coach Hoang Anh Tuan in this training camp are 5 assistants, including two former national team players Le Tan Tai and Au Van Hoan. Both are currently involved in youth training at clubs, thereby contributing practical experience to the training and development of players.

In the first training sessions, the coaching staff focused on helping players get acquainted with training methods, consolidate physical and professional foundations, and build cohesion in the team. Because this is also the selection stage, players must meet professional and physical requirements to compete for a spot in the tournament.
CFA Team China 2026 will be an important test for U16 Vietnam. According to the plan, the team will depart for China on September 22 with a shortlist of 24 players.
At the tournament, U16 Vietnam successively met U16 Australia, U16 China and U16 Kyrgyzstan. These are meaningful matches in the process of testing the squad, especially when the team is in the stage of building forces for long-term goals.

With a short preparation time, each training session at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center is considered an opportunity for the coaching staff to continue reviewing personnel and perfecting the playing style. After CFA Team China 2026, the experiences at the international tournament will be the basis for U16 Vietnam to continue to aim for tasks at the U17 level, including the goal of preparing for the 2027 AFC U17 Championship Finals.
