U16 Vietnam led by coach Hoang Anh Tuan will gather from September 12 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center to prepare for the CFA Team China 2026 International U16 Tournament.
This gathering is part of the force building plan towards the 2027 AFC U17 Championship finals. Therefore, the coaching staff will have more basis to assess the professional capacity and adaptability of players in the international environment.
The U16 Vietnam list gathers players from youth training systems such as PVF, The Cong Viettel, Hanoi, Song Lam Nghe An, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Dong Thap, Hanoi Police...
Some outstanding faces such as Truong Van Tai, Tran Van Duc Uy (Song Lam Nghe An), Pham Tuan Kiet, Hoang Trung Anh, Nguyen Tran Trong Hiep (PVF), Le Minh Hoang, Nguyen Manh Nguyen and Dao Tuan Sang (Hoang Anh Gia Lai).
The summoning of players from many training sources helps coach Hoang Anh Tuan have more choices in the process of arranging the squad. This is also an opportunity for players to compete for positions and prove their ability before the coaching staff.
After the domestic preparation phase, U16 Vietnam will go to China to attend CFA Team China 2026 in Shenyang (Liaoning province), with the participation of U16 Vietnam, Australia, China and Kyrgyzstan.
According to the format, the teams will play in a single round-robin format. U16 Vietnam will meet Australia on September 24, host China on September 27 and Kyrgyzstan on September 30.
These are three matches of different natures. U16 Australia brings challenges in terms of physical fitness and rhythm, while China has home advantage. Kyrgyzstan is also an opponent that helps the team test their ability to organize their playing style.
After the tournament, the coaching staff will have a basis to continue adjusting the U16 Vietnam force.
