The Vietnam U19 futsal team enters the first training camp in 2026 with a training plan in Ho Chi Minh City from April 6 to April 14, in which the highlight is two international friendly matches against the Russian U19 futsal team on April 11 and April 13.
This is considered an important opportunity for young players to accumulate international competition experience, improve their competitive spirit as well as their ability to adapt to high-level opponents, thereby helping the coaching staff assess each individual's ability to complete the successor force for the national futsal team.
The Vietnam U19 futsal team is led by coach Nguyen Bao Trung, along with assistants who are experienced former players including Nguyen Duc Duy, Danh Phat and Khong Dinh Hung. The coaching staff expects this gathering to help young players improve their physical condition, perfect technique and tactics, and accumulate more practical competition experience through quality friendly matches.
Previously, some players who grew up from the U19 Vietnam futsal generation soon affirmed their abilities and were called up to the national futsal team, including Nguyen Da Hai - who participated in two friendly matches with U19 Russia in 2024. This shows the initial effectiveness in the youth training of Vietnam futsal in recent times.
Maintaining training sessions and organizing international friendly matches continues to reflect the consistent direction of the Vietnam Football Federation in the strategy of developing youth futsal in depth, creating a regular competition environment from domestic to international, thereby improving the quality of successor human resources for the Vietnamese futsal team in the future.
