According to information from the coaching staff, the team arrived in Kunming on March 8 and quickly stabilized accommodation and living conditions before entering the training program. The weather here is currently colder than Hanoi, with temperatures fluctuating around 17-18 degrees Celsius. However, the training and living conditions of the team are considered favorable, from the field, accommodation hotels to nutrition, helping players maintain the pace of preparation for the tournament.
During the training period in Kunming, Vietnam U20 women's team is expected to play three friendly matches to review the force and improve the playing style. Specifically, the team will meet a Beijing women's club on March 10, a Korean women's club on March 12 and a Chinese women's club on March 14.
At the end of the training session, on March 15th, the whole team will return to Vietnam and move to Ho Chi Minh City to continue the final preparation phase. In about two weeks before entering the tournament, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team are expected to have two more friendly matches with the Uzbekistan U20 women's team on March 24th and March 27th.
According to the plan, on March 29, Vietnam U20 women's team will depart for Bangkok (Thailand) to participate in the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Championship finals.
At this year's tournament, Vietnam U20 women's team is in Group A with China U20 women's team, host Thailand and Bangladesh. According to the schedule, the team will successively meet China U20 women's team on April 1, Thailand on April 4 and Bangladesh on April 7. These are considered important challenges for coach Okiyama Masahiko's team in the goal of competing for a ticket to the next round at the continental tournament for the U20 age group.
