This week, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team will finish their curriculum early and leave for Japan for training on July 11.
Although the weather at the Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi) is quite hot, with an average temperature of over 35 degrees Celsius per training session, the U20 Vietnamese women's players still maintain their concentration, maintain the intensity of training and try to complete the coaching staff's training program with an enthusiastic spirit.
Evaluating the students, coach Okiyama said that the U20 Vietnam women's players are in the process of preparing for the 2026 U20 Asian Women's Qualifiers. Currently, the team has parted ways with 4 players and replaced 4 other faces to stabilize the force. The players have also overcome their sadness when they lost to Thailand in the recent regional tournament.
Head coach Okiyama Masahiko frankly shared: In the recent Southeast Asian tournament, the players did not show all their abilities and the necessary confidence, so everything will have to be overcome through this training session. The young players need to accumulate experience and practice seriously to gradually mature".
According to the plan, the Vietnam U20 women's team will practice in Hanoi until July 10, then move to Japan for training (from July 11 to 21).
Coach Masahiko said: "We aim to play more matches with stronger and older teams in Japan. Acquiring strengths from Japanese women's football is the goal we set for this training session".
From August 6 to 10 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, U20 Vietnam women's team will compete in the U20 Asian Women's Championship qualifiers, against opponents Kyrgyzstan, Hong Kong (China) and Singapore.
Mr. Masahiko shared: "The team is determined and tries our best to qualify. A month of training from Hanoi to Japan is the basis for the players to improve their tactics and playing style.
They still need time to continue to improve themselves and in the next 1 to 2 years they will have the opportunity to be called up to the national women's team".
