The tournament brings together 4 potential U22 teams and high professional quality including U22 Korea, U22 Uzbekistan, host U22 China and U22 Vietnam.
This is also the third consecutive time the U22 Vietnam team has been invited to participate in the prestigious tournament organized by the Chinese Football Association (CFA).
Not only the result of the Memorandum of Understanding on Football Development Cooperation signed between the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the CFA, continuing to participate in the CFA Team China Panda Cup is also an affirmation of the prestige, professional capacity and stable performance of the Vietnam U22 team on the international level.

In the most recent participation in March 2025, under the leadership of head coach Dinh Hong Vinh, U22 Vietnam played impressively with an unbeaten record (1-1 draw with U22 Korea, 0-0 draw with U22 Uzbekistan and 1-1 draw with host U22 China), thereby winning 3rd place overall. Goalkeeper Cao Van Binh also voted the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.
The 2025 CFA Team China Panda Cup is considered an important stepping stone for the participating teams towards the 2026 U23 Asian Cup finals.
For U22 Vietnam, this is a quality international match, helping the coaching staff continue to improve the squad, experiment with personnel and tactics, and at the same time is an important stepping stone before the final stage towards the 33rd SEA Games.
According to the plan, the U22 Vietnam team will gather again at the same time as the national team's training session during the FIFA Days in November 2025.
