According to research, the Asian Athletics Federation and the ASIAD 20 Organizing Committee will not announce the standards of the events to award tickets to participate in this Games. ASIAD 20 will begin in September in Japan.
However, the Asian Athletics Federation will move towards standard regulations for considering participation in the Asian Championships. This may begin to be implemented from 2027.
This year, Asian Athletics will only host the 2026 Relay Championships in June in China. The 2027 Asian Athletics Championships will be held in Xiamen (China).
Up to now, athletes participating in athletics to compete in ASIAD do not have to be considered according to regulations. Teams only register athletes according to the regulations of the Organizing Committee to participate in ASIAD competitions.
The Vietnamese athletics team will participate in ASIAD 20. Currently, members of the Vietnamese athletics team are training in Hanoi and Da Nang. The coaching staff will select suitable events to register forces to ASIAD 20. The goal of the athletes is to strive to compete for ASIAD 20 medal achievements.
The most recent international tournament that the Vietnamese athletics team participated in in 2026 was the 2026 Asian Indoor Championships. We did not win a medal at this tournament.
