In modern life, the concept of KOL (Key Op opinion Leader) - public opinion leader - is no longer strange. People often mention singers, actors, or famous faces on social networks. But it can be seen that sports athletes - although not all are the brightest stars - still carry that role, because their own life and career stories become a source of inspiration for the public.
A missed penalty shot, a fall from injury, or a moment of crying on the podium to receive a medal... can all make millions of hearts sympathize. Because sports, after all, are not just about winning or losing, but also a journey of determination, discipline and self- overcoming. That is also what a real KOL needs to have: The ability to transmit positive energy from personal experience.
Many Vietnamese athletes, by living simply, practicing persistently, or acting beautifully on the field, have left strong impressions. They may not be famous for entertainment stars, but their words, gestures, and attitudes are imbued with the true value of life. Especially for young people, the image of a player trying to return after a long-term injury, or a female athlete practicing tirelessly in poor conditions, is a vivid proof that: Success never comes easy.
But besides that, there are still many unsightly images... In the era of social networks, where anyone can become an influencer, the responsibility of athletes is even greater. They not only represent the national team or club, but are also a living example reflecting moral and humanistic values. An thoughtless statement can damage the image of the group, but a beautiful action is enough to spread the spirit of fair-play widely.
Therefore, being aware of being a KOL - in the most beautiful sense - is the way for athletes to continue competing, contributing, and at the same time contributing to nurturing faith and aspiration for society. That is the most lasting "victory".
