In this life, referees are not only available in sports. Referees are in every aspect of life and in every sense, the referee is the one who "holds the right balance" - both the right and the responsibility - to keep the game, or a dispute, taking place in order and fairness.
But if, most referees in other fields have authority, legal basis and weight in judgments, then for the "blue- shirts" on the pitch, the legal basis sometimes has no meaning to emotions. Therefore, referees are always people who walk on a delicate bond of faith and pressure. We know that better than anyone. Mistakes are an inevitable part of a profession that only has accumulation to make decisions.
The information about the proposal to hire a foreign referee made me and my colleagues feel a little sad. Normally, foreign referees only appear at the end of the season, but now, they mention it as a cold cut, that the belief in us is still too fragile.
We also aim for fairness and objectivity - the common goal of the game. But after that - "creating a positive effect in public opinion, strengthening trust in fans and the media" - it is truly a pity for his role and position. Because if trust is only built from the appearance of foreign colleagues, then our efforts and sweats are not respected at all.
Vietnamese referees still make mistakes and are lacking, but when everyone needs objectivity, we also need objectivity. In a society where the test is faster than light, is it fair to us? Therefore, instead of "transparent image" being enhanced and sent by outsiders, we need to work together to find solutions, consolidate the foundation so that we are more steadfast on our path, have enough courage to maintain the balance without leaning towards any pressure and have no reason to be suspicious.
We will continue to play, do the task with all seriousness, responsibility and love for the profession. But it is hoped that domestic referees will be recognized for their fairness, objectivity and self-respect.
