Head coach of the Vietnam jujitsu Team, Mr. Bui Dinh Tien said: "We have carefully selected the force to register to participate in the 33rd SEA Games.
Athlete Dao Hong Son was awarded a place to participate in this Congress. This boxer is still one of the qualified players of the national team".
Dao Hong Son just finished competing in the 2025 World jujitsu Championship in Thailand on November 7 with 2 gold medals (men's 56kg contact hif event, men's 56kg contact event).
Thus, in terms of individual achievements, Dao Hong Son won gold medals at the 2025 World Championship, the 2025 Asian Championship and the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship.
However, the coaching staff said that this player is still cautious about the 33rd SEA Games because many important opponents with high expertise are present, so the ability to compete for medals is not easy.
Dao Hong Son is currently the Vietnamese jujitsu player with the best SEA Games record. This boxer won the gold medal in the men's 56kg weight class at the 31st and 32nd SEA Games.
Hong Son's gold medal at the 32nd SEA Games is also the only gold medal of the Vietnam jujitsu Team. At the 33rd SEA Games, Dao Hong Son will be professionally focused on the men's 62kg weight class.
The jujitsu sport at the 33rd SEA Games will organize 18 events. Of which, the Ne Waza competition has 7 events (4 for men, 3 for women), the Fighting competition has 4 events (2 for men, 2 for women) and Duo Classic has 7 events (2 for men, 2 for women, 3 for mixed-use and women).
