The home team Vietnam taekwondo team sent the best force, including Chau Tuyet Van, to participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship held in Nha Trang ward (Khanh Hoa) from August 18.
The tournament brings together more than 370 domestic and international fighters to participate in the contents for competition and to demonstrate the rights of men and women of the Southeast Asian youth championship and championship.
After the tournament, the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation will continue to organize the 2025 International Club Championship. The competition program will last until August 25.
The teams participating in the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship include Vietnam (host), Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore.
Boxer Chau Tuyet Van is an important player in the right performance of Vietnamese taekwondo.
This year, she was honored to receive the First Class Labor Medal by the President in recognition of her achievement of winning a gold medal at the 2024 World Championship.
At that time, Chau Tuyet Van won two gold medals with the results in the U50 standard women's team event (competing with Lien Thi Tuyet Mai) and the U50 standard men's and women's doubles (competing with Nguyen Thien Phung).
The 2025 Southeast Asian Championship is considered by experts to be a tournament before the 33rd SEA Games.
In 2023, the Vietnam Taekwondo Team won four gold medals, five silver medals, and three bronze medals at the 32nd SEA Games.
In the four gold medals, Chau Tuyet Van contributed a championship ( mixed freelance team event for men and women).
