The project to build a stadium and auxiliary items was approved by the People's Committee of Bac Kan province in April 2023 with a total investment of 252 billion VND. The project officially started in mid-January 2024 on an area of over 20 hectares in Huyen Tung ward, Bac Kan city.
This is the largest-scale sports facility ever implemented in Bac Kan province with about 8,000 seats and can be increased to 15,000 seats in the next phase.
Recorded in mid-November 2024, after nearly 1 year of construction, a large area has been formed. At the construction site, dozens of equipment and human resources were mobilized to level the ground and build a drainage system.
Mr. Vo Quoc Toan - Director of Bac Kan City Construction Investment Project Management Board - said that up to now, the construction package for leveling and drainage has completed about 70% of the total contract value.
"This is one of the key projects of Bac Kan city. The locality will implement the project in parts, first completing the stadium and clearing the ground, leveling the square area," Mr. Toan informed.
According to Mr. Toan, the stadium was designed based on the idea of the rice husk boat in the legend of Ba Be Lake. The two sides of the main stand are designed with canvas roofs like sails overcoming the waves, combined with the shape of the famous Lung Nham rock mountain range of Bac Kan province.
The field meets international football competition standards with an 8-lane pitch system for athletics competitions. In addition, about 1 km of traffic roads will be built around the stadium with a roadbed width of 16.5 m.
The square category will feature a highlight of a 7-petal flower symbol, representing 7 ethnic groups living in Bac Kan province, combined with a fountain and performance stage.
