Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee recently directed agencies, units and localities to implement solutions based on their functions and tasks to strengthen management, operation and price stabilization during the Lunar New Year 2025.
In particular, agencies, units and localities closely monitor and update the supply-demand situation and market prices in the province to promptly advise on measures to manage, operate and stabilize market prices, especially before, during and after Tet, to avoid unusual fluctuations affecting socio-economic life; strengthen the prevention of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
The Department of Finance must proactively monitor closely the developments in supply and demand, market prices, especially for essential goods and services that directly serve people's needs such as food, fresh food, tourism services, sightseeing, passenger transport services... to promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee on price stabilization measures in accordance with the law.
The Department of Industry and Trade monitors and evaluates the supply and demand of goods, preventing shortages and disruptions in supply that could cause sudden price increases during the Lunar New Year. Coordinates with relevant agencies and units to implement market stabilization programs, supply-demand connection activities, and programs to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas, industrial parks, and remote areas.
Regarding tourism activities during the Lunar New Year 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will inspect the implementation of public posting of prices for tourism, sightseeing and accommodation services in the province; strictly handle violations, taking advantage of the increased number of passengers during Tet to increase service prices at unreasonably high levels and cases of failure to publicly post prices according to regulations.
