According to a survey at 5:30 am on January 7, world gasoline and oil prices fluctuated in opposite directions. WTI crude oil price decreased by 1.35 USD/barrel (down 2.31%), to 57.85 USD/barrel. Brent oil price increased by 0.06 USD/barrel (up 0.01%), to 60.60 USD/barrel.
On Tuesday, oil prices fell as the market weighed between expectations of abundant global supply this year and uncertainty surrounding Venezuela's crude oil production after the United States arrested the Venezuelan President.
In the price adjustment session last week, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the world gasoline and oil market in the past week's adjustment (from December 25, 2025 - December 30, 2025) was affected by key factors such as: New instability in the Middle East region; progress of the peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine; China increasing crude oil imports; tensions in relations between the United States and Venezuela; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues... The above factors have caused world gasoline and oil prices in recent days to increase and decrease depending on each item.
According to a representative of a gasoline and oil business, domestic gasoline and oil prices will fluctuate according to the world gasoline and oil situation. According to current market developments, it is predicted that in the next price adjustment period, retail gasoline and oil prices may decrease.
In the adjustment session last week (December 25), gasoline prices simultaneously decreased. In which, E5 RON 92 gasoline priced at 18,716 VND/liter (down 523 VND/liter). RON 95-III gasoline priced at 19,006 VND/liter (down 614 VND/liter).
Diesel and kerosene prices decreased, while mazut oil prices increased. Diesel 0.05S priced at 17,257 VND/liter (down 219 VND/liter); kerosene had a new price of 17,709 VND/liter (down 228 VND/liter); mazut oil 180CST 3.5S priced at 13,382 VND/kg (up 222 VND/kg).
