Market developments
World coffee prices have been adjusted down after reaching a short-term peak in recent sessions. Profit-taking forces from hedge funds and investors have increased sharply, especially due to concerns about inflation and the commodity market cooling down.
In addition, the stronger US dollar and unclear signals about the consumption outlook in the US also have a negative impact on investor sentiment.
According to the Customs Department (Ministry of Finance), in the first quarter of 2025, Vietnam's coffee exports reached 2.8 billion USD, up 45.8% despite a decrease in output, while seafood exports reached 2.3 billion USD, up 19.2%.
