World coffee prices today
On the London Stock Exchange, Robusta futures for May 2025 were trading at 5,253 USD/ton, unchanged from the previous session. The terms for July, September, and November also remained unchanged at 5,277 - 5,211 - 5,142 USD/ton, respectively.
Similarly, on the New York Stock Exchange, Arabica futures for May 2025 are currently at 375.50 cents/lb, unchanged from the weekend session. The following terms are 372.60 - 366.05 - 358.70 cents/lb respectively.
The decrease in trading volume shows that speculators are temporarily observing, after a series of strong increases thanks to supply - demand and weather factors. According to Reuters, Robusta coffee inventories on the ICE have fallen to a three-and-a-half-week low, raising concerns about shortages.
Coffee price assessment and forecast
According to reports from the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Lak and Dak Nong, the rainfall in April was assessed as average and at the right time, contributing to maintaining coffee growth in the next crop. However, some areas still face local drought risks if the heat continues in May.
Despite temporary stagnation, coffee prices are likely to remain high in the short term due to the lack of significant improvement in world inventories. The organization of ICO and Rabobank both forecast Arabica and Robusta coffee prices to continue to fluctuate at the peak in the second quarter of 2025, before being able to adjust slightly at the end of the quarter.
