Domestic coffee prices
Today (September 27), the domestic coffee market reversed and decreased. In the Central Highlands provinces, common coffee prices range from 95,000 - 95,600 VND/kg. Of which, Dak Lak and Gia Lai purchased at VND95,400 - VND95,500/kg, down VND2,000/kg respectively. Lam Dong purchased at the lowest price in all regions when it had the same decrease of VND 2,000/kg, currently listed at VND 95,000/kg.
After a week of strong recovery, coffee prices at the end of the week suddenly reversed and decreased sharply by 2,000 VND/kg. This downward trend has caused the gap with the peak set at the end of April 2025, when domestic coffee once reached 99,000 - 99,500 VND/kg, to grow further.
World coffee prices
The world market reversed alternately, the trading day at the end of the week decreased sharply, the trading floor was red. On the London Stock Exchange, robusta coffee futures for September fell $121, down to $3,228/ton. Other terms simultaneously turned to slide from 97 - 108 USD/ton.
In the same direction, the price of arabica coffee on the New York exchange continued to fall sharply. September term decreased by 7.30%, reaching 297.55 cents/lb. The remaining terms fell from 5.70% to 6.55% cents/lb.
With stable export demand and the emerging recession, what domestic producers need to focus on is optimizing quality, linking raw material areas and preparing strategies to prevent risks from market fluctuations.
