Domestic pepper prices: Unchanged on the first day of the week
As of 11:30 am today (May 11), domestic pepper prices are flat, averaging 142,800 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 141,000 - 144,000 VND/kg.
Domestic pepper prices ended the week without fluctuations, only slightly increasing on the weekend depending on the region. Currently, the listed prices in the regions are as follows:
Gia Lai province, after a sharp increase of 1,000 VND/kg, traded at the mark of 141,000 VND/kg.
Dong Nai recorded a weekly increase of 500 VND/kg, listed at 142,500 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, 3 provinces Ho Chi Minh City, Dak Lak and Lam Dong remained unchanged, offering for sale at purchase prices of 142,500 VND/kg and 14,000 VND/kg respectively.
World pepper prices: Slightly decrease after 1 week of sideways movement
According to data from the International Pepper Corporation (IPC), pepper prices in key producing countries generally remained stable last week, except for Indonesia, which recorded a slight decrease.
At the end of the week, Indonesian black pepper prices reached 6,955 USD/ton, down 0.16% (equivalent to 11 USD/ton) compared to the previous week. Indonesian white pepper reached 9,164 USD/ton, down 0.15% (about 14 USD/ton).
Meanwhile, the price of Brazilian black pepper type ASTA 570 remained unchanged at 6,100 USD/ton throughout the week. In the same direction, black and white Malaysian peppers remained at 9,300 USD/ton and 12,000 USD/ton.
In Vietnam, the price of white pepper stands at 9,000 USD/ton. The price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains at 6,100 - 6,200 USD/ton.

Assessments and forecasts
According to ITC statistics, most major export markets decreased sharply compared to the previous month, of which Vietnam decreased by 68.7% to 269 tons, South Korea decreased by 66.7% to 48 tons, and the United States decreased by 46.2% to 186 tons.
Conversely, China increased sharply by 66.3% compared to the previous month, reaching 301 tons, and was Indonesia's largest export market in March, while Thailand remained stable compared to February 2026, reaching 160 tons.
In Vietnam, although the harvest season has ended, the selling pressure from the people is not large due to the expectation that prices will continue to conquer new milestones. In the short term, the pepper market is forecast to continue to have slight upward adjustments, closely dependent on the purchasing progress of export enterprises and weather diễn biến in key growing areas.
