Assessment and forecast
The domestic pepper market recorded a continuous up and down trend, but fluctuations were still within a narrow range compared to many previous sideways sessions. According to experts, although this year's output is still limited, domestic purchase prices have not yet met expectations, making pepper growers more cautious in bringing products to the market.
However, pepper prices are now significantly higher than the same period last year. The Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that many enterprises are entering the stage of completing delivery contracts for the second quarter of 2025, which could create a slight push for prices in the period from mid-May to early June. In addition, the strong increase in demand from European and Middle Eastern markets to serve the holiday and tourism season is also a supporting factor.
