Domestic pepper prices: Price decline
As of 11am today (December 18), domestic pepper prices remained unchanged at the closing price of the previous session, averaging VND147,400/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 146,500 - 148,500 VND/kg.
The provinces and cities reversed and decreased by 1,500 VND/kg, the price list on the market for specific areas is as follows:
The two provinces of Gia Lai and Dong Nai are both listed at 146,500 VND/kg.
Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City and Dak Lak are anchored at 147,500 VND/kg and 148,500 VND/kg respectively.
Lam Dong province, after recording the strongest increase of VND 1,000/kg, also decreased sharply, bringing to the market a price of VND 148,500/kg.
World pepper prices: Maintain the decline
In the world market, pepper prices continue to fluctuate in some regions. The Indonesian exchange - one of the busiest markets continues to fall. Currently, these two items are traded between 6,977 - 9,618 USD/ton (equivalent to 184,214 VND/kg - 253,945 VND/kg), down slightly by 0.03%.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian market remained unchanged at 6,075 USD/ton (about 160,399 VND/kg). In the same direction, black and white pepper traded at 12,000 USD/ton and 9,000 USD/ton.
Notably, in the Vietnamese pepper export market, the price of 500 g/l and 550 g/l black pepper remains in the price range of 6,500 - 6,700 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices are currently at 9,250 USD/ton (equivalent to 244,228 VND/kg).

Assessment and forecast
Although it recorded a decrease, domestic pepper prices in mid-December 2025 had almost no fluctuations, fluctuating around 150,000 VND/kg after the previous period of rapid increase. This volatility shows that it is entering a more cautious state as cash flow tends to narrow at the end of the year.
Demand is currently being disrupted by the coffee market as the price of this commodity has dropped sharply. Some dealers selling these two products are forced to adjust capital flows, limit purchases in pepper to reduce risks, creating temporary weak purchasing power.
