Assessment and forecast
According to the report of the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (Ptexim), pepper harvesting activities have begun and are being carried out in areas such as Dak Nong, Binh Phuoc... However, the harvesting progress is quite slow. In 2025, the harvest season is forecast to be longer, the main harvests may take place in late March or early April.
Although the new pepper harvest has started, many domestic speculators, including farmers and agents with strong financial potential, continue to store goods. Speculators predict that black pepper prices will continue to increase sharply, so they are not in a hurry to sell.
Last week, on February 10, black pepper prices skyrocketed by $200 in just one day. However, prices have since been adjusted down due to the lack of support from the export market, as prices have increased too quickly in the past two weeks. That is also the reason why pepper products this week have maintained stable prices.
