Assessments and forecasts
After a period of silence and adjustment, pepper prices in two major producing countries, Indonesia and Brazil, have recorded a rebound. Although the increase margin is not large, this development is considered an important signal, showing that the market is gradually getting out of the previous weakening trend.
The main reason for this increase comes from the supply factor. After the peak harvest, the amount of goods sold by farmers and businesses in Indonesia and Brazil tends to decrease, causing the market to fall into a local scarcity state. This is a factor that regularly creates short-term price increases in the agricultural product market.
Vietnam's pepper exports to markets grew unevenly in the first 3 months of 2026. In which, exports to some markets increased significantly such as: USA, Thailand, Netherlands, Philippines, Egypt... In contrast, exports to some markets decreased such as: Germany, India, UK, South Korea.
