Domestic pepper prices: Breaking the price increase chain
As of 11:30 today (September 3), the domestic pepper market suddenly dropped in price, an average decrease of VND 3,400/kg. Currently, pepper purchasing prices are recorded at 140,000 - 145,000 VND/kg.
Gia Lai province is the area that kept the same purchasing price compared to the previous session, anchored at 140,000 VND/kg.
Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City both stood at VND141,000/kg, down VND4,000/kg.
Notably, Dak Lak and Lam Dong province "turned around" and slid in the range of 2,000 - 7,000 VND/kg, down to 140,000 - 145,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: Developments in the same direction
In the world market, pepper prices remain unchanged in most areas. The Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets - suddenly reversed and decreased. Currently, these two items are traded between 7,526 - 10,167 USD/ton (equivalent to 198,273 VND/kg - 267,850 VND/kg), down 0.28% at the same time.
In Vietnam, the export price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l is stable after a strong increase, currently anchored at 6,240 - 6,370 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices reached 8,950 USD/ton (equivalent to 235,788 VND/kg).
The Brazilian exchange rate is stable, this region is currently at 6,050 USD/ton (about 159,388 VND/kg). Meanwhile, Malaysia's black and white pepper remained at 11,750 USD/ton and 9,000 USD/ton.
