Assessments and forecasts
According to data from the Customs Department, Vietnam's pepper export structure in the second quarter of 2026 did not have major fluctuations. Black pepper and ground black pepper continued to prevail, with a total proportion of 84.1%, up from 83.4% in the same period last year.
In general, in the first 6 months of 2026, exports of Vietnam's main pepper varieties all increased compared to the same period in 2025, in which black pepper is the type with the largest volume and export growth rate, reaching 100.2 thousand tons, worth 651.1 million USD, an increase of 19.1% in volume and 15.6% in value compared to the same period in 2025.
Accordingly, the prospects of the pepper market in the short term are still relatively balanced, supported by solid export prices from Vietnam and supply from Brazil gradually improving.
