Domestic pepper prices
Today (September 6), domestic pepper prices traded in the range of 135,000 - 137,000 VND/kg, unchanged compared to the closing session last week.
At the end of last week, Gia Lai, Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City all anchored at the threshold of 135,000 VND/kg, unchanged compared to the previous week.
Following the same developments, Dak Lak maintained a price of 136,500 VND/kg.
Lam Dong province is currently offering to the market at the highest price of 139,000 VND/kg.
This is the second consecutive week that domestic pepper prices have not adjusted up or down.
World pepper price
According to data from the International Pepper Corporation (IPC), pepper prices last week increased and decreased alternately.
Indonesian black pepper prices are currently anchored at 6,929 USD/ton, an increase of 32 USD/ton compared to the previous week. In the same direction, Indonesian white pepper prices increased by 44 USD/ton last week, to 9,487 USD/ton.
In the opposite direction, Brazil's ASTA 570 black pepper price decreased by 50 USD/ton, to 5,750 USD/ton.
Meanwhile, black and white peppers in Malaysia remained stable at 9,300 USD/ton and 12,200 USD/ton last week.
In Vietnam and Malaysia, white pepper prices remained flat at 8,400 USD/ton and 12,200 USD/ton.
Assessments and forecasts
According to the International Pepper Corporation (IPC), the global pepper market diễn biến with a positive trend in the last week of August.
Meanwhile, according to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Plant Association (VPSA), global pepper production in 2026 is forecast to continue to be lower than the forecasts at the beginning of the year because production in Vietnam, Indonesia and India all decreased due to the impact of unfavorable weather and reduced productivity.
According to data from the Vietnam Statistics Office, in August 2026, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 23 thousand tons, worth 148 million USD and the average export price was 6,505 USD/ton. Compared to the previous month, export volume decreased by 0.7%, turnover decreased by 1.2% and average export price decreased by 0.6%. However, compared to the same period in 2025, pepper exports still increased by 5.8% in volume and 5.3% in value, while the average export price decreased by 0.5%.
