Domestic pepper prices
As of 12:00 PM today (September 9), the average domestic pepper price is at 138,500 VND/kg. Currently, the listed price range is in the range of 137,000 - 141,000 VND/kg.
At the end of the recent trading session, Gia Lai and Dong Nai both anchored at the threshold of 137,000 VND/kg.
Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City put it on the market at a price of 137,500 VND/kg.
Dak Lak announces a price of 140,000 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong, pepper prices are currently at the highest level in the whole region at 141,000 VND/kg.
World pepper price
In the world market, pepper prices continue to stabilize in all countries. Indonesia's black and white peppers are no exception, trading in the range of 6,936 - 9,496 USD/ton (equivalent to 181,516 VND/kg - 248,511 VND/kg), increasing by 7 USD/ton and 9 USD/ton respectively.
In the same direction, the price of Brazilian black pepper sold to the market is 5,750 USD/ton (about 150,478 VND/kg). Black and white Malaysian peppers still maintain the same price range, trading at high prices, respectively 12,200 USD/ton and 9,300 USD/ton.
Notably, in Vietnam's pepper export market, black pepper prices of 500 g/l and 550 g/l are traded at 5,990 - 6,050 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 8,400 USD/ton (equivalent to 219,828 VND/kg).
Assessments and forecasts
The domestic market has officially closed the 2026 harvest with an output of 155,000 tons. However, concerns about supply for the next crop are beginning to emerge.
A report from Nedspice indicates that uneven rainfall distribution combined with prolonged high temperatures has caused flowering, and at the same time made the flowering process of the 2027 pepper crop uneven, negatively affecting the ability of pepper trees to bear fruit early.
Nedspice also assessed that global pepper supply in 2026 is generally still stable compared to previous years. This stability is thanks to strong production growth in Brazil, playing a role in compensating for the production decline in Vietnam and Indonesia.
