There is less than a week left until the Lunar New Year 2025. The supply of goods at shopping areas has been carefully prepared, ready to serve people's Tet shopping needs with stable prices and rich diversity.
In traditional markets such as Dong Ba market, as well as in large shopping malls and supermarkets, the colors of Spring are everywhere, through every stall and colorful signboard. Boxes of candy and drinks are covered with eye-catching, festive packaging.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen Thanh - a vendor at a candy stall - said that this year, the products are very diverse, with beautiful designs and reasonable prices. To prepare for Tet, she has chosen to import both domestic and imported goods from reputable suppliers, ensuring clear origins.
Although Tet goods are more abundant and cheaper than last year, purchasing power is still not really vibrant. Many customers only shop simply, mainly to decorate their shops, cafes or houses. Artificial flower stalls, although displaying many types of apricot and peach blossoms, mainly serve customers' need to take Tet photos.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan An - a resident of Thuan Hoa district, Hue city - shared: "This year, the economy is difficult. At the end of the year, the family only relies on the Tet bonus to spend, so we have to calculate more reasonably, cut down on many unnecessary things."
Mr. An also added that online shopping is becoming more and more convenient. His family has ordered a lot on online platforms, only buying candies, jams and nuts at the market to ensure quality.
The change in consumer habits in the context of economic difficulties, along with the strong development of online shopping, has clearly affected the traditional Tet market. However, many people still choose to visit the Tet market to enjoy the traditional atmosphere and directly check the quality of goods. This is also a beautiful cultural feature, associated with the memories of the bustling end of the year.
Despite many challenges, small traders and retailers still have high hopes for the days leading up to Tet when people flock back from the provinces and Tet bonuses are disbursed to workers.
