The Domestic Market Management and Development Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) has just sent a document to key petroleum trading traders, key petroleum production traders and petroleum distribution traders on ensuring the supply of bio-gasoline from June 1, 2026.
The implementation aims to implement Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT dated November 7, 2025 of the Minister of Industry and Trade stipulating the roadmap for applying the blending ratio of biofuels with traditional fuels.
Accordingly, from June 1, 2026, unleaded gasoline according to current national technical regulations must be blended and mixed into E10 gasoline for use in gasoline engines nationwide. At the same time, E5 RON92 gasoline continues to be blended, mixed and supplied for use in gasoline engines until the end of December 31, 2030.
To ensure the supply of bio-gasoline to serve consumer demand and goods circulation in the market, the Domestic Market Management and Development Authority requests key petroleum producers to proactively source base gasoline, accelerate the progress of blending and mixing E5 and E10 bio-gasoline; ensure the full supply of bio-gasoline output that has been signed and agreed with key petroleum traders in accordance with the plan and committed progress.
For key petroleum traders and petroleum distribution traders, the Department requests them to proactively develop plans for blending, mixing, and trading biofuel from traders with biofuel blending and mixing facilities and key traders to ensure stable supply for the distribution system.
In addition, businesses need to direct and coordinate with affiliated distribution systems, franchisors and retail gasoline and oil dealers to fully prepare facilities and technical conditions to be ready to distribute E5 and E10 bio-gasoline from June 1, 2026.
The Domestic Market Management and Development Authority also requests key petroleum production and trading traders and distribution traders to closely monitor the developments of biofuel consumption in the market; proactively plan sources of goods, ensuring full and continuous supply of biofuel in all situations.
In the process of implementation, in case of arising difficulties and obstacles beyond authority, businesses are required to promptly report to the Domestic Market Management and Development Department for consideration and handling, absolutely not to let the supply of bio-gasoline on the market be interrupted.
