Advising on the use of E10 biofuel for products on Honda Vietnam's website, this unit wrote - in the recommendation on suitable fuel types, information is provided to customers in the vehicle's instructions, with products being officially distributed by Honda Vietnam, suitable fuel types include the following factors:
First, the Octan index is 91 or higher (applicable to both motorbike & car products). For CIVIC TYPE R vehicles, use E10 RON 95 gasoline with an Octan score of 95 or higher.
Second, the Pethanol content does not exceed 10% (applicable to motorbike products)
According to Honda Vietnam, based on the parameters of E10 biofuel published in QCVN 01:2022/BKHCN, customers can be completely assured of the compatible of this fuel with Honda Vietnam products, while ensuring no damage to the engine or fuel system on the vehicle.
Previously, the Ministry of Industry and Trade also said that many major automakers (such as Toyota, Honda, Ford...) and technical organizations such as SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) have affirmed that E5 and E10 biofuels are not harmful to engines. In contrast, E10 biofuel has a higher octan value, helping the motor to operate more efficiently and reduce the phenomenon of explosion. This helps maintain mechanical maintenance, reduce maintenance costs and prolong the life of the vehicle.
Vietnamese experts in the field of mechanical - mechanical engineering also assess that E10 is suitable for current types of vehicles in Vietnam. The Ministry of Science and Technology has conducted inspection trials showing that E5 and E10 gasoline do not affect mechanical endurance if they comply with the issued biofuel quality standards.
According to the RFA, E10 gasoline has been used in the United States for more than 20 years and is recognized as safe for all types of modern automobiles and motorbikes.
According to a recent survey by Petrolimex, Toyota and Honda in Vietnam have also confirmed that vehicles manufactured by these companies operate normally with the E10.
