Speaking at the 19th National Press Awards Ceremony in 2024, Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the National Press Awards Council - said: The Vietnamese revolutionary press today always carries the breath of reality, reflecting all aspects of political - economic - cultural - social - defense - security life; reflecting the Party's guidelines and policies, propaganda, criticism and building of State policies and laws; reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of all classes of people; sharing, connecting, exchanging and consolidating the great national unity bloc.
According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, the 19th National Press Award is an example reflecting the life of the press, reflecting the practical leadership, direction, labor and contributions of the Party, State and people in 2024. The press has promptly and vividly promoted major events and important issues of the country with outstanding topics.
The selection of hundreds of thousands of works from print, radio, television, electronic newspapers, press photos, multimedia press products, creative press from all levels of the Journalists Association, central and local press agencies in 2024 has selected nearly 2,000 high-quality works to participate in the Award, of which 128 best press works will pass the two preliminary and final rounds and will be honored with the award today.
We have a golden star on the pen
Regarding the content of the works competing in the national press award and the winning works, Mr. Le Quoc Minh said that these are works of controversial political theory about the Party's character in press life; about the issues raised in the development of the cultural industry; about the scientific and urgent nature of the revolution of streamlining the apparatus; about opportunities and challenges in the era of national growth.
These are news programs, signings, seminars, documentaries about the heroic war memories of the Fatherland, with tears and glory; about the country's belief and aspiration to rise up; about national cultural heritages that are in great need of preservation and conservation.
These are reflections, reports, investigations, and social criticisms about cumbersome administrative procedures, development obstruction; loss and waste of public assets; environmental destruction; food hygiene and safety violations.
It is also a portrait of people who are workers, productive and creative; are role models who rise up in adversity and hardship. And especially humanity in storms and floods, the spirit of mutual love and patriotism, the noble humanity of giving without asking for it, leaving no one behind, in a year our country suffered many natural disasters and losses.
Mr. Le Quoc Minh said that with a high sense of responsibility, thorough discussion and accurate and fair assessment of the entries, the councils have selected the most outstanding works, with high discovery, authenticity and fighting spirit; with valuable content, creative forms; having a widespread influence and positive impact on the public, to award 13 A prizes, 27 B prizes, 49 C prizes and 39 Encouragement prizes for 13 prizes this year.
