Tonight (September 21), the 19th National Press Awards Ceremony in 2024 took place in Hanoi. This activity coincides with the 100th Anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21,25 - June 21, 2025).
Attending the ceremony were Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia.

Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee: Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Lai Xuan Mon; Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh; General Director of the Voice of Vietnam Do Tien Sy; Editor-in-Chief of Hoang Trung Dung Communist Magazine. Also attending the Award Ceremony were leaders of central and local departments, ministries and branches.
Opening the program of the 19th National Press Awards Ceremony in 2024 is an art program with the theme "steel in the Bottle, Fire in the Heart" - A place to honor the contributions of genuine journalists.

The National Press Award, approved by the Government and assigned to the Vietnam Journalists Association, is the standing agency, the most prestigious annual press award to honor authors and works with outstanding contributions to the development of the country's press.
This is a source of spiritual encouragement, encouraging the team of journalists to continue to strive, be creative, build a professional, modern, fighting and humane Vietnamese journalism.
Especially this year, the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, the National Press Award is even more meaningful in affirming the position and great contributions of generations of Vietnamese journalists in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
On June 3, 2025, the Final Round of 33 members reviewed and judged 183 entries through the preliminary round, selecting 128 outstanding press works to award, including: 13 A Prizes, 27 B Prizes, 49 C Prizes and 39 Encouragement Prizes.
This is also the first year that the National Press Award has entered two new awards, Multimedia Journalism and Creative Journalism. In general, the works participating in this year's Award have met the selection criteria stated in the Award Council's Selection Guidelines, comprehensively and deeply reflecting the country's political, economic, cultural, social, security, national defense and foreign affairs life in 2024, with outstanding thematic areas such as:
The streamlining of the apparatus will bring the country into a new era, reforming institutions, reforming procedures, reorganizing administrative units; digital transformation, green transformation, developing a green economy...
Hot social issues such as: Damage from super typhoon Yagi and urgent relief activities for people, production restoration, deforestation, excessive exploitation of mineral resources, destroying smuggled and counterfeit goods, driver's testing issues, etc.
Along with that, many works are written about good people and good deeds such as: Highland female teachers, village party cell secretaries, portraits of young female doctors or blind students... with noble gestures, convincing, touching people's hearts.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Permanent Vice President of the National Press Awards Council - assessed: "The highlight this year is the media and creative press products that are invested in by press agencies, applying modern press technology, developing multi-platform and multi-medium press but still meeting the standards of content, ensuring political, ideological, accuracy, timeliness, positive and strong social impact, increasing attractiveness and increasing public access. The works selected by the Final Round Council are very worthy of being awarded the 19th National Press Award.
