On August 26, the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee held a meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution, the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and awarded the Party Badge. The meeting was attended by provincial leaders, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, armed forces, religions and outstanding party members.
On this occasion, 1,526 Party members received the Badge, 12 comrades were posthumously awarded and 1,514 comrades were awarded the Party Badge from 30 to 75 years of Party membership.
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Ngo Chi Cuong - Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee - emphasized: "The August Revolution of 1945 opened an era of independence and freedom for the nation. The tradition of patriotism, the spirit of solidarity and the will to overcome difficulties of previous generations are valuable assets for us to continue to build the homeland of Vinh Long to develop more and more".
The meeting and awarding ceremony of the Party Badge is an opportunity to review revolutionary traditions, express gratitude to veteran Party members, and at the same time affirm the determination to build a strong and sustainable Vinh Long province.
