5 Army Senior Lieutenant Generals cease to hold positions from March 1st

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed decisions to terminate the positions of Deputy Minister of National Defense, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) with 5 Army Senior Lieutenant Generals.

In Decisions 343/QD-TTg, 347/QD-TTg, 348/QD-TTg, 349/QD-TTg dated February 26, 2026, the Prime Minister decided that 4 Senior Lieutenant Generals, Members of the 13th Central Committee of the Party, including: Hoang Xuan Chien, Le Huy Vinh, Vo Minh Luong and Vu Hai San, will no longer hold the position of Deputy Minister of National Defense, and will retire from work from March 1, 2026.

In Decision No. 346/QD-TTg dated February 26, 2026, the Prime Minister decided that Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang - Member of the 13th Central Committee of the Party - will no longer hold the position of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, and will retire from work from March 1, 2026.
