5 development pillars to bring Lang Son to the new economic center

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, suggested that Lang Son province focus on 5 key groups of tasks.

On September 25, at the Lang Son Provincial Convention Center, the 18th Lang Son Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, officially opened.

Attending and directing the Congress were Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai and representatives of the Central and local governments.

Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai congratulated and highly appreciated Lang Son's outstanding results in the past term.

The province has maintained a stable economic growth rate, piloted a "smart border gate" in Huu Nghi, invested heavily in infrastructure, improved the business environment, completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, raising the level of education - health care, and was recognized by UNESCO as a Global Geopark.

National defense, security and foreign affairs work are strengthened; the two-level government model operates smoothly and effectively.

In addition to the achievements, Ms. Hoai noted that the province still has 2 targets that have not been achieved and requested the Congress to carefully analyze the causes and propose solutions in the new period.

To make Lang Son develop breakthrough, Politburo member Bui Thi Minh Hoai suggested that the province focus on 5 key groups of tasks.

Accordingly, the province needs to thoroughly grasp and promptly implement the major policies and resolutions of the Party on health, education, science - technology, innovation and digital transformation; operate the two-level government model in the direction of "close to the people, close to the people, serving the people and businesses".

Promote administrative reform associated with digital transformation, remove "bottlenecks" in institutions and policies; increase decentralization and delegation of power along with strict supervision; create an open investment environment, improve the province's competitiveness.

Build a clean and strong Party and political system, improve leadership capacity, tighten discipline, prevent degradation; innovate mass mobilization work; promote the supervisory and critical role of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations.

Along with that, restructuring agriculture in conjunction with building new rural areas; promoting the digital economy, green economy, circular economy; developing modern industry, border gate economy, building Lang Son into a logistics center and import-export hub of the region; promoting trade - services - tourism.

In addition, ensure social security, develop culture and strengthen national defense and security, care for the material and spiritual life of people, especially rural and border areas; develop tourism associated with UNESCO Global Geopark; maintain border sovereignty, build peaceful borders, cooperate and develop.

The goal is that by 2030, Lang Son will become the growth pole of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region; by 2035, it will become a fairly developed province.

At the end of her speech, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai suggested that the delegates uphold their sense of responsibility, select qualified, capable, and brave cadres who dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, unite, and gather to lead the successful implementation of the Congress Resolution.
