On September 22, An Giang Provincial People's Council held the 6th session (specialized session) to approve many important draft resolutions.
At the meeting, the draft Resolution on the Staffing of cadres and civil servants in agencies of the provincial local government and the total staffing of cadres and civil servants of the commune-level local government was approved; the number of people working and receiving salaries from the state budget in public non-business units of An Giang province in 2026.
The payroll of cadres and civil servants in local government agencies in the province in 2026 is 1,813 payrolls; The total payroll of cadres and civil servants of local government at commune level in 2026 is 4,797 payrolls; The number of people working and receiving salaries from the state budget in public non-business units in 2026 is 56,020 people. A total of 62,630 payrolls of cadres, civil servants, and people working and receiving salaries from the budget.
According to the People's Committee of An Giang province, based on the actual situation of management and use of staffing for cadres and civil servants in state administrative agencies; the number of people working in public non-business units and related regulations; the Provincial People's Committee submits to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and decision on staffing.
After implementing the 2-level local government organization model according to Resolution No. 202/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly on arranging the entire province of An Giang and Kien Giang into a new province called An Giang province and Resolution No. 1654/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on arranging commune-level administrative units of An Giang province in 2025 (including 102 units: 85 communes, 14 wards, 3 special zones), the local government apparatus in the province has gone into stable operation. However, to ensure a legal basis for administrative agencies and public non-business units to implement the management, recruitment, use of cadres, civil servants, public employees and payment of salaries from the state budget in accordance with regulations, the Provincial People's Council's issuance of this Resolution is extremely necessary and urgent.
The purpose of issuing this Resolution is to manage and use the payroll of cadres and civil servants, the number of employees receiving salaries from the state budget to ensure compliance with regulations, meet job requirements, and be suitable for the job position.
